Book Mentioned in Barron's

April 2008: Robert Auerbach's new book, Deception and Abuse at the Fed, was recently mentioned in Barron's in a discussion of former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan's doctoral dissertation. In a follow-up article, Barron's tracks down the elusive disseration.

Auerbach comments: "One correction to the Barrons' story should be noted. I do not say in my book, as Barrons reports, that 'Greenspan's Ph.D. is, de facto, an honorary degree.' In my book I report being unable to obtain Greenspan's dissertation and I show New York University Provost's letter to me (8/12/05) that replies to my request for a copy. Provost David W. McLaughlin wrote that 'Greenspan's dissertation is not in the Bobst Library' because 'it was the practice of the business school during the 1970's not to deposit dissertations with the library.'"
